Marketing Leap Frog and SEO

Derek’s Sandbox Day 85

Hello everyone….

If you are joining me for the first time, this will have been my last post before I am “out” of the sandbox. My name is Derek and I am the assistant copywriter here at MorePro Marketing and have been put on a 90 day probation period since the beginning of my hire. In other words, I have been put in the “sandbox” until my skills have weathered enough to get out. As I have come along, I have been tracking my progress along the way to inform those that are on the edge of SEO, curious, or even those addicted to reality type shows to see if I even have a job at the end of the 90 day period. Unless my microwave dinner somehow blows up the building before Day 90, I think I might manage to be ok.

Along the way, I have been tracking the benefits of SEO, and what it has done and can do for you. Through this, there has been a common theme that I have attempted to portray and make known which is “IF YOUR COMPANY HAS A WEBSITE, IT IS CRUCIAL TO BE CONTINUALLY OPTIMIZING IT.” Coming from a background in advertising, I’ve seen good and bad attempts at branding awareness and sales drives, but it honestly always comes back to the Internet. Always-

Through my journey, I have learned that there is one common theme in all of marketing and that is MARKETING MUST BE CONTINUOUS.

At MorePro we can work to increase traffic from link building, social media, PPC campaigns, any many other strategies which we want to ultimately lead to sales. We have Case studies to show that what we do has been successful in the past and can be for everyone else.

SEO, and for that matter, any form of marketing will not be a one-time fix. When your links, traffic and authority have been built, there will always be someone else pushing you out. You cannot always sign on to the Internet and see the same thing that you saw a week, day, hour or even five minutes ago. You cannot afford to pay for marketing campaigns in a chosen medium and expect a lifelong viral buzz to where you will not need anymore marketing. (If you have, please share!)

So as I step out of the sandbox, I want everyone to remember these few things.

  1. Search Engine Optimization does work. Increasing links and keyword saturated content leads to keyword rankings, which then leads to traffic, then to sales.
  2. The Internet has changed EVERYTHING. This is the one time when I encourage someone to follow the trend of “everyone’s doing it!” Really, EVERYONE is doing it…
  3. One marketing campaign will not solve your business problems forever. Not even SEO. Please consider the long term and short term investments of your goals for business and know that SEO can be short term, but in return you will get short term results. You will get out of SEO exactly what you put in.Consider it a marketing leapfrog, you’re at a standstill, just waiting to be leaped over.

I would like to thank everyone at MorePro for my training and I hope that through my training that you all have picked up some understanding along the way of what getting into Search Engine Marketing can do.

Next time I post, I will have been out of the Sandbox. Stay tuned for the next informative series from me.
